Applied learning for your ambitions

Explore digital technology.
Develop practical skills.

This two-year HND is part of the Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals and offers applied study of digital computing with a focus on cyber security. Develop technical knowledge alongside communication, teamwork, research and analytical skills relevant to further study and the workplace.

Year one introduces digital technologies, programming, networking, data and security. Year two builds on these foundations through cloud security, cryptography, business intelligence, the Internet of Things and emerging technologies.

Work-based learning and digital sustainability connect technical topics with professional practice. Independent study and collaborative assignments help you apply ideas, investigate problems and demonstrate your learning.

Employment or further study

After completing the HND, you can explore employment in digital roles or apply for suitable degree-level progression. Entry to a top-up or other degree route depends on the receiving university’s requirements, your results and course availability.

Plan your timetable

The supplied outline describes a two-day weekday timetable. Treat this as indicative and subject to confirmation. The current GBS guide lists weekday and/or evening delivery where available. Ask for your campus timetable, attendance expectations and independent study commitments.
