A foundation for your ambitions

Construction knowledge.
Practical management.

Develop specialist knowledge of construction management and the legal, environmental and technological contexts in which the industry operates. This four-year route begins with a Foundation Year, preparing you for degree-level study and introducing the built environment.

Explore how construction projects move from initial design towards completion. Investigate measurement, building performance and appraisal, design and buildability alongside the business and management concepts that support project delivery.

Consider how evidence-based analysis, evaluation and problem-solving inform decisions about quality, time, cost and safety. Practical learning can connect academic principles with real construction challenges through case studies, work-related projects, practical sessions, site visits and guest lectures. Confirm the activities available for your intake.

As you progress, develop your understanding of the people, resources, technologies and responsibilities involved in construction. Build skills that can support further development across the built environment.
